Into the bushes I had to go!!!

It has been almost 2 – 3 weeks since we last kayaked together as a Trio. Philip, Don and myself finally met up at the launch site at about 7am. Though it was suppose to be earlier but our ever friendly Don overslept! LOL..

As we were setting up our kayaks, the ever similar feeling of a tummy ache crept in!! Just as I was about to launch, I had to go BIG TIME!! Off into the wild bushes I went to do my *Ahem*…. So this is what many of our NS man have to do when they are out field I thought to myself.. I won’t know cos I was from the SPF 😛

Now with that out of the way, it was a day of fishing was about to present itself to us.
The long paddle to the spot begin, however the duration seem to have shorted with the conversation we had along the way. Within the first 5mins, I had 2 small ACK which was released!
Don followed up with a few small ones as well… Nothing big around.

Just then Don spotted a few crescent tails breaking the water. Based on our experience, we sincerely believe that it’s not the usual Giant Herring!! GT’s, Queenfish and others came into our mind!! However, we could not get a hit from them LOL..

It was hot and almost unbearable, just then, I had a proper take on my rod. It had some weight behind it! I was expecting it to be a big grouper as I was fishing over a rocky patch!! As the fight cont. into the 5th min, up came the fish!! It was a HUGE catty!!! Pure slime weighing in at a good 3kgs!!

3kgs of pure slime!

It was promptly & carefully released back to the sea. To fight another day!

Don managed to land a decent size ACK which was a keeper and I reckon Philip as well 🙂
We all then decided to leave at about 11am as it the heat was really getting to us.

All in all, it was a good days out paddling. Not to mentioned that it was a Tuesday! Which means there will be another trip out this coming Saturday!! YUPPIE!!!

Nelayan fishing!!

Woooo here I am at Jurong bird park at the $5 per rod Nelayan fishing pond. The rules are simple!! $5 for a rod, line and hook. Should the line break ur $5 is done!!

Catch as many fish with that $5!!
I’m here tonight with my bro & wife plus me and Sharon! It was quite a sight seeing fish landing left and right.

So down went my first try.. And soon enuff I had my first take! I managed to surface the fish however it took quite abit of technique to land the fish I successfully did it!!!!

However I had multi hits and lost.. It’s good fun nonetheless for a mid week session to Destress!!!

One thing for sure I will be back for more!

Laboring on Labour Day

Arrangements has been made and 3 mad kayakers decided to head out on labour day to work for some fishes!

As I was heading to my car I noticed it was drizzling however, after a couple of SMS’es to confirm the trip was still on, we all met up at the usual coffee shop for our breakfast!

After inputting our necessary carbo intake, we got out baits and to the launch site we proceed! Upon arriving, the first thing that came to sight was White Caps showing on the horizon! The Wind was blowing hard and we were going to paddle against the current!

A short prayer and off we went! After a good 45mins, I was first into a fish! A Greasy Cod appeared trashing from the deep ocean! I shall name him Zues!! Out came the clipper and it was mine for the taking!!

The fishing was alright with everyone catching at least 3-4pieces of Fish! Unfortunately, Jingwen drop his set up into the ocean after he detached his secured line to his setup!

Philip and myself both had huge takes with one snapping Philip’s 30lb line! Anyway we ran out of bait super fast! 400grams was almost done in 1hr30mins!! Lesson learnt! Always buy more not less!!

We then headed back paddle against the current once again however with grins on our faces as we still had a fun day out at sea with the fishes n friends!!

To end the day, Zues managed to survive out of the water for a good 1hr30mins!! So we tried to keep him in our saltwater setup tank at home! 9hrs since and he is still surviving!!
